Mr. Harold L. Ruby, Jr.
Mr. Harold L. Ruby, Jr., 55, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at his home.
The Pennsylvania native was a Star Corporal with the City of Savannah Police Department, where he had been employed since 1971. He loved and was committed to his career as a policeman. He was an all-star softball player who was very involved with tournament play and he was an antique car enthusiast. Mr. Ruby was preceded in death by his parents, Harold L., Sr. and Stella Ruby, and a sister, Sandra Ruby Gruber.
Survivors include his beloved fiance, Jan Bowen of Savannah; sister, Rosie Frawley of Savannah; nieces, Heather Frawley, Staci Gruber, and Holly Frawley; great-niece, Makenzie Mae Paige; and a son, Harold Droste.
Funeral services were held at 11 AM on Friday, February 10 in the chapel of the funeral home. Entombment was at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
Remembrances may be given to M.A.D.D., 100 Edgewood Avenue, Ste. 810, Atlanta, GA 30303.
Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, West Chatham Chapel in Pooler, was in charge of all arrangements.

Mrs. Elvie L. Shuman
Mrs. Elvie L. Shuman, 79, died Tuesday, February 7, 2006, at her residence after an extended illness.
Mrs. Shuman was a native of Long County, Georgia and was a longtime resident of Chatham County. She worked at the Pirate's House for 30 years and was a member of Burkhalter Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by a son, Leroy Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy E. Shuman of Garden City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Doug and Elna Jackson, Jackie and Beckie Jackson, and John and Linda Jackson, all of Savannah; a daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Dwight Ring of Cordele, GA; two step-sons, Steve Shuman of Savannah and Gary Shuman of Texas; step-daughter, Kim Clark of Savannah; twenty-eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 11 AM on Friday, February 10 in the chapel of Fairhaven Funeral Home. Dr. Donnie Brannen officiated. Burial was at Richmond Hill First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Fairhaven Funeral Home and Crematory, Garden City, Georgia, was in charge of all arrangements.
 
Mrs. Martha E. Cooper
Mrs. Martha E. Cooper, 63, died Friday, January 13, 2006, at Memorial Health.
Born in Munich, Germany, Mrs. Cooper had lived in Pooler for a number of years. She was a Beautician.
Survivors include her former husband, Donald H. Cooper of Garden City; daughters and sons-in-law, Silvia and Craig Spilliards of Pooler and Eleanor and Buddy Bowen of Pooler; grandchildren, Robert Austin Cooper, Timothy Spilliards, and Morgan Bowen; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at 2 PM on Tuesday, January 17 in the chapel of the funeral home. Interment was at Gravel Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be given to Central Baptist Church, 4010 Old Louisville Rd., Garden City, GA 31408.

Christopher Scott "Chris" Stahl, Sr.
Christopher Scott Stahl, Sr., 30, died Sunday morning as a result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Chatham County, Chris graduated from Effingham County High School in 1993 where he excelled in football. He attended Woodlawn United Methodist Church and will be remembered for being a great brother and friend. He was employed by Precision Pattern, was a Mason, an avid weightlifter, and enjoyed fishing. Chris was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Granny Kat and Papa Spud Murray, his paternal grandparents, Bill and Celia Stahl, and a special cousin who was like a brother, Ryan Booth.
Survivors include his son, Christopher Scott Stahl, Jr. of Rincon; parents, Art and Joy Stahl of Faulkville; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Marty Stahl of Faulkville and Stephen and Jennifer Stahl of Guyton; nephews, Colby and Nick Stahl of Guyton; and a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Graveside funeral services were held at 11 AM on Wednesday at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

Elizabeth Douglas Jaudon
Elizabeth Douglas Jaudon, of Port Wentworth, died Monday, February 13, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family, and under the care of Hospice Savannah, Inc.
She was a life long resident of Chatham County, GA.
She worked as a Cosmetologist for over 20 years with Elliott’s and Revco Drug Stores.   She was a member of the Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, Past President of the Women’s Circle, and the Port Wentworth Elementary School P.T.A.    She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, J.H. Jaudon, Jr.
She is survived by two daughters and  sons-in-law, Phyllis and James S. Brantley of Ridgeland, SC and Patricia Jaudon and Mac McGowan of Port Wentworth, GA; a sister, Elsie Douglas Hall, of Port Wentworth, GA;  four grandchildren, Shelley, Jon and Michael Brantley, Jana Jaudon Mobley and three great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are asked to be made to Port Wentworth United Methodist Church, 201 Turnberry Street, Port Wentworth, GA, 31407.
The family would like to thank Dawn Weiland and Sherrie Smith with Hospice Savannah, Inc., for all they have done.
Funeral Services will be held privately in the Family Cemetery.
