THE SPIRIT WORKS!

I know that I heard him say this thing came with a mouse!

I'm lovin' this weather now. Not too hot, not too cold. Just perfect!

...I had hoped to have some pictures to share with you that I took Tuesday night when I went to the Nightmare on Tisbury Lane in Berwick Place. Unfortunately, it's way past deadline and I haven't gotten them yet. Maybe I can get it in next week, but the people that set up the horror show at the two homes in that neighborhood really put on a good show, free for all the neighborhood kids. Congrats and thanks to them for going out of their way and making it a Halloween to Remember for all those kids, most of whom were screaming and running away as fast as possible while I was there!

...It was a good weekend for Fall Festivals in our area last week, stretching from Garden City through Pooler and Bloomingdale and on up into Effingham. You just gotta love this time of year!

...I have to proofread Allison's column every week, and I usually don't respond to what she's written about me. (Her column's on page 5.) But my Mama's gonna think I've gone off my rocker when she reads what Allison wrote about what I think about being served Beans & Sausage & Rice for supper, with Jiffy Mix cornbread. (Guys, if your wife sends you to the store to pick up a box of Jiffy Mix cornbread mix, just say No!) You see, at my house growing up, unlike Allison's, we were too poor to have sausage & rice with our beans, though we were able to afford the Jiffy Mix cornbread with our Lima Bean dinners.

...Things I learned while reading about other things...
  • A man was trick-or-treating with his daughter Tuesday night in White Plains, New York. The man was wearing his old orange jumpsuit from his stint in prison. A prison guard, also out trick-or-treating with his children, spotted the man and stopped him, but the man took off running. The guard called the prison and they put the place in lockdown and did a head count to make sure no prisoners were missing. The man was finally identified by his license plate, and has been charged with petty larceny and possession of stolen material. Inmates aren't allowed to take their old jumpsuits home with them.

...Tommy's is having their Annual Toy Run on Saturday, November 25th. If you know of a family in need of help for their kids for Christmas, please contact Tommy at 660-5664 or Lori at 660-5663.

...Attention Bikers! The MDA Dice Run will be held Sunday, November 5th beginning at Savannah Harley Davidson. Registration starts at 9am, with first out at 10am. Last in at 2pm and prizes awarded at 2:30pm. Savannah Harley Davidson is located at I-95 and Hwy 204. All proceeds will go to the local Muscular Dystrophy Association. $20 per person, includes dice hand and dinner. Extra dice hands available for $5. Dinner tickets for extra riders, $5 each. 50/50 and door prizes will be awarded. First place is $350, 2nd place is $150, and 3rd place prize is $75. With 200 participants, Savannah Harley Davidson will award a Grand Prize, a $2400 trailer. For more information, call David at 313-0114.

...And don't forget to vote next Tuesday! I'm sure all of you are as sick of the political commercials as I am. Why can't a candidate just tell us what he's done for us, or what he will do for us, rather than spend all his advertising money telling us what a crook his opponent is?

...Take care this week, stay safe, and in the words of the great Red Skelton, "May God Bless."
