Letters to the Editor
Regarding Pooler’s First Neighbors Nite Out....
Dear Editor,
This letter has been a long time coming, but it comes at a good time. In August, Pooler had its 1st Neighbors Night Out which was sponsored by Towne Lake Community.  It was a huge success.  Pooler businesses were able to show their wares and  the people who came out enjoyed learning  all about the new businesses. People receiving freebies. and enjoying music which was  furnished by “His” radio.  Raffles went on through the evening, items were from area businesses: Western Sizzler, Regions Bank, Curves, Bahamas Bobs, Home Shopping Mall, Lovezolla’s, Verizons, Darby, and many more.
JCB had a mini excavator for children to ride. Basketball was fun to try, and there were other  games for children to play and win prizes. Food was available from many of our businesses such as  Monkey Love, Chick-Fil- A, Food Lion, Piggly Wiggly, and Quizno’s.
The Fire and Police Departments came out and spent the evening. The children could explore the fire truck and talk with the firemen on hand. The police department gave out information for safety and neighborhood watch programs.
We incorporated a fundraiser during this evening for our Pooler Police and Fire Departments.  A total of  $500 was made during the evening and many prizes were awarded for those that were there.
At the end of the evening  of National Night Out, some prizes were left over.  Towne Lake Association  will be holding a  Bingo with these prizes to add to the money for the Police and Fire Departments that has already been raised.
The Bingo will be held Oct. 13th, at the Towne Lake Pavilion at 7:00P.M. You must be 18 years of age. Drinks will be sold.  Come out and support your police and Fire departments.  You’re guaranteed to have a good time.  (Bring a chair!) Any questions call Jean Carter at 748-8723.
Again Pooler’s National Night Out was a huge success and it was because of the businesses and volunteers we had that supported the night.   Towne Lake Association would like to thank all who participated.
If your area or association would be interested in being part or helping out or if you would like to volunteer with the Neighbors Night Out next year, please give a call to Jean Carter at 748-8723.

Thank you,
Jean Carter
