A Well Deserved Toast!
By Allison W.

It's Wednesday
night and I just got home from my
youngest daughter's Senior Toast
at Groves High School. It was an
excellent occasion, with one
glitch ... she didn't want me to
toast her. She gave me that look
that said, "No way do I want
you up there talking about me in
front of everybody!"
"You'd
probably cry," she said. And
she was right, I probably would
have. But now I'm home, and I'm
just too proud of a Mama to not
give a toast where a toast is
definitely due! So, in the
presence of all of you, our loyal
friends and readers, I salute my
daughter with my cup of coffee ...
To Allary -
Sincere wishes for
you,
My youngest
daughter of three.
That you never let
a day pass by,
Without talking to
me!
That you give more
than you take,
Each and every day,
That you "do
the right thing",
And keep evil at
bay.
That you stand
steadfast,
In what you know is
true,
That you wake up
thankful.
That your days blue
are few.
That you bend and
sway easily
When the strong
winds blow wild
That you hold your
head high always,
Never forget that
you are MY child.
That at some point
you'll realize,
What an awesome
person you are,
That you deserve
the world and more,
You are a shining
star.
That your path is
always smooth,
And your pockets
full of gold.
That your goals are
within reach,
And blessings
shower you ten-fold.
That you
acknowledge each night,
To the Heavenly
Father above,
What a gift that
day's been
And give thanks for
His love.
That one day you'll
understand,
How precious you
are to me.
That no matter
where life takes you,
That's where my
heart will be.
Though we've had
our ups and downs,
And you've
constantly kept me guessing,
I lift this coffee
cup to you, Allary,
And toast one of my
three greatest blessings!
I love you and
I'm so very proud of you!
